In this background, an automobile manufacturer in China, Hedan Automobile, eized the opportunity. They aimed at the Grand Marshal sedan produced by the Gavril company on the other side of the ocean. Luxurious and expensive, has a trunk that can fit the whole of China. Just what China’s luxury car market needed at the time. They spared no expense to buy the production line of the Grand Marshal and redesigned some details.
Finally, after a generation of car people’s efforts, Hedan Automobile’s first luxury car officially rolled off the production line. At this time, it needs a resounding name so that it can have a certain sales volume even if its product strength is extremely poor. The car’s design director, Mr. Zhong (fictitious), stood up and said: “This car should carry the flag in the market, so let’s call it a Flag-Guard!” The employees clapped their hands and applauded. From then on, this car had a name: Hedan Flag-Guard.
Although Hedan Automobile seems to be on the forefront, the sales of Flag-Guard have been sluggish, and no one knows the specific reasons. It is speculated that the price is too high and the price/performance ratio is not as good as that of an AW！ It may also be caused by uninnovative design. There is even a joke among the people: For every production of a Flag-Guard, three sedans of different models need to be dismantled to use their parts (LeGran, Marshal, Lore-Friendly Towncar Maybe)
In 2005, production of the Flag Guard was discontinued, and a total of 1,500 vehicles were built, of which only 300 were civilian versions. Hedan’s senior management also considered carefully and decided not to use American technology in the future, but to find ways to obtain the more advanced technology of Ibishu Company at that time. The Flag-Guard has since remained in the long river of history.
